Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine was raised and born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pam is Jazmine's mom, and is an ex-backing singer in the band Philadelphia International Records. At the age of five her father was named to be the city's Historic Strawberry Mansion curator. She and her family moved later into this historical building. In 2005, a Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts graduates who is majoring in vocal music. Sullivan began singing in the school's chorus as a contralto after which she was a part of the adult choir a few years further on. Sullivan was never introduced to secular music at the beginning. "When I was eleven years old, I was approached by someone asking me to register for a gospel record. I refused to do that," she says. At that time, McDonald's held a contest for children in large cities. I had the opportunity to perform "Accept the Grace of God" on It's Showtime at the Apollo. And the audience was very supportive. Stevie Wonder sang her part during her grandsons 13th birthday party. Sullivan made her first signing with Jive Records when she was 15. She was signed to Jive Records at the age fifteen. She was the producer of an entire album. The album didn't get released. Sullivan was then dropped from the label. The singer had a great working connection along with Missy Elliott. Elliott produced many of her tracks which included "Backstabbers" the track that was written by Timbaland.
