Alexandra Raisman

Aly Raisman was a U.S. Olympic team captain, who was awarded gold at the 2012 Olympics. Her six Olympic gold medals comprise of the record-breaking number. In addition, she was the winner of two World Championships teams. She is a native of Needham, Massachusetts, Aly's interest in the sport can be traced to her first "mommy & me" gymnastics class she attended when she was just 18 months old. Aly has always been an ardent advocate for body positive and has been a leader and an activist on the ground. Aly recently made a statement on Larry Nassar's sentencing. Aly Raisman, born in 1994 began gymnastics as a young child and played a key role in helping her U.S. team to win the 2011 World Championships. The following year she won two gold medals - one for the team event and another in the single floor exercise--and a bronze medal in the beam competition at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Raisman received silver in both the individual and floor finals at the 2016 Olympics in Rio. In addition, she took home a gold medal during the competition for team gymnastics. In the year 2017, Raisman revealed she had experienced sexual abuse at the by team doctor Larry Nassar, and the following year she brought a suit against USA Gymnastics and the U.S. Olympic Committee.
